Moroccan Morocco Tanger Tangiers
23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Young Moroccan Woman in Traditional Attire, Tangiers, Province de Tanger, Morocco (1900s) 2. Description: This photograph captures the essence of Moroccan culture and the spirit of a young woman from the Province de Tanger, in the beautiful North African country of Morocco, during the early 1900s. The young Moroccan woman, dressed in traditional clothing, exudes a sense of grace and elegance, her eyes filled with a quiet intensity that speaks to the rich history and heritage of her people. 3. Historical Context: Tangiers, located on the North African coast, has long been a melting pot of cultures, with influences from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the city was a popular destination for European travelers and colonizers, who were drawn to its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. This photograph offers a glimpse into the lives of the Moroccan people during this period, a time of great change and transformation. 4. Attire and Accessories: The young woman in the photograph is dressed in traditional Moroccan clothing, including a long, flowing robe called a djellaba, and a headscarf called a hajeb. She wears intricately designed jewelry, including a necklace, bracelets, and earrings, all adorned with intricate patterns and precious stones. These items were often passed down from generation to generation and held great cultural and sentimental value. 5. Symbolism and Meaning: The photograph not only serves as a beautiful representation of Moroccan culture and history, but also as a reminder of the resilience and strength of the Moroccan people. Despite the challenges and changes that came with European colonization, the Moroccan people continued to hold onto their traditions and values, passing them down from generation to generation.
