A view of the extreior Indiana limestone facade and main entrance of the original Yankee Stadium in The Bronx in New York City. It served as the home baseball park of Major League Baseballs New York Yankees from 1923 to 1973 and after extensive renovations, from 1976 to 2008. Located at East 161st Street and River Avenue the stadium has been superceeded by a new ground (built close by) which opened in 2009. The majority of the old stadium, including the above-ground structure, is to be demolished to become parkland, but is still being retained for little league baseball

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures the exterior Indiana limestone facade and main entrance of the historic Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, New York City. Once the proud home of Major League Baseball's New York Yankees from 1923 to 1973, and again from 1976 to 2008, the stadium's iconic structure stood at East 161st Street and River Avenue. The image showcases the grandeur of the stadium's entrance, with its ornate gates and imposing stands, as a sea of people fill the surrounding area, creating a bustling atmosphere that embodies the spirit of baseball in the city. Despite the passage of time and the opening of a new Yankee Stadium nearby in 2009, the historical significance of this landmark remains undeniable. Though the majority of the old stadium is set to be demolished to make way for parkland, the above-ground structure is being retained for little league baseball games. The image serves as a poignant reminder of the rich history and tradition that Yankee Stadium represents in the annals of baseball history. The Indiana limestone facade, with its intricate details and timeworn patina, stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the New York Yankees and the city that has embraced them for generations. This photograph is not only a snapshot of a bygone era, but also a symbol of the enduring love affair between the people of New York and their beloved baseball team.
