31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This exquisite WWI silk and lace cushion cover, titled "Commemorating the Destruction of Arras," is a poignant and beautiful reminder of the historical significance of the First World War. The intricately designed topographical depiction of the destroyed city of Arras, a major battleground during the war, is brought to life through the delicate use of silk and lace. The vivid colors and intricate details of the ruined buildings, smoke-filled skies, and soldiers in the foreground create a hauntingly beautiful image that speaks to the devastating impact of war. The First World War, also known as the Great War, lasted from 1914 to 1918 and was one of the deadliest conflicts in history. The Battle of Arras, fought between April and May 1917, was a major offensive by the British and French forces against the German army. The battle resulted in significant losses for both sides, with over 160,000 casualties. This commemorative art piece serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the war and the destruction that war brings in its wake. The delicate silk and lace fabric adds an unexpected beauty to the image, highlighting the contrast between the fragility of peace and the devastating power of war. The intricacy and detail of the design also serve as a testament to the skill and artistry of the artist, making this a valuable and meaningful addition to any historical or military collection.
