23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "A Symbol of Courage and Resilience: The British Bulldog on Guard during World War One" This evocative World War One patriotic postcard, dated circa 1916, features a powerful and proud British Bulldog standing tall on the Union Flag. The image of the bulldog, a cherished national symbol of Britain, was widely used during the war as a potent symbol of courage, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity. The Union Flag, the national flag of the United Kingdom, serves as the backdrop for the bulldog, emphasizing its connection to the British people and their collective spirit during this tumultuous time. The bulldog's unwavering gaze and defiant stance convey a sense of unyielding commitment to the war effort and to the values that the British people held dear. The use of the bulldog as a symbol of patriotism during World War One was not an accident. This breed, known for its tenacity and unyielding spirit, had long been associated with the British people and their national identity. The bulldog's popularity as a symbol of British strength and determination was further solidified during the war, as it became a common motif in propaganda and military insignia. This postcard, with its striking image of the British Bulldog on guard, would have been sent to loved ones on the home front and the battlefront as a reminder of the unwavering support and solidarity of the British people during World War One. It serves as a poignant reminder of the powerful role that symbols and national pride played in sustaining morale during times of conflict.
