23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This ancient papyrus, dating back to the 21st Dynasty of Egypt's Third Intermediate Period, around 1075-946 BC, provides a captivating glimpse into the rich and complex religious practices of the ancient Egyptians. The document, now housed in the Neues Museum in Berlin, Germany, is a part of the Litany of Ra, a text dedicated to the worship of the sun god Ra. The scene depicted on this page showcases several figures, including the deity Ra himself, who is represented by a beetle, and the god Re, who is shown as a falcon-headed figure. The figures are engaged in an offering ceremony, with one figure presenting food offerings to Ra, while another figure, possibly a mummy, is shown kneeling in reverence. The intricate hieroglyphic scripture adorning the page is a testament to the sophistication of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The text is written in a formal, hieroglyphic script, which was used for religious and royal documents. The hieroglyphs convey the litany, a series of invocations and prayers, which were recited during religious rituals to honor and appease the gods. The detail and care with which this papyrus was created demonstrate the importance of religion in ancient Egyptian life. The figures and text are meticulously drawn, with each element carefully crafted to convey the essence of the deity and the reverence of the worshippers. The papyrus is a valuable document that offers a unique insight into the mythology and religious practices of the ancient Egyptians, providing a fascinating window into their age-old civilization.
