31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph, Vita Sackville-West, the renowned English writer and gardener, is seen embarking on her honeymoon journey with her new husband, Harold Nicolson, a distinguished diplomat. The image, captured on October 1, 1913, marks the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the newlyweds as they leave the grandeur of Knole Park, their former home. Knole Park, a historic house and deer park in Sevenoaks, Kent, had been the ancestral seat of the Sackville family for centuries. Vita, born into the aristocratic Sackville family, had grown up in its opulent surroundings. Her marriage to Harold Nicolson, however, signified a departure from her familial ties and the start of a life together as a couple. The photograph captures the essence of an era long past, with Vita dressed in an elegant Edwardian gown, her hat adorned with a veil, and Harold in a formal suit. The couple stands before a carriage, their luggage arranged neatly beside them. The serene expression on their faces speaks volumes about the excitement and anticipation they must have felt as they embarked on their honeymoon. This image offers a glimpse into the lives of two remarkable individuals, whose love story has been immortalized in history. Vita's literary achievements, including her novels and gardening books, and Harold's diplomatic career, have left indelible marks on their respective fields. Their marriage, which lasted until Harold's death in 1968, was a testament to their deep bond and mutual respect. As the carriage rolls away from the imposing gates of Knole Park, Vita and Harold set off on their journey, leaving behind the familiar surroundings of their past and embracing the unknown adventures of their future. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of love and the beauty of new beginnings.
