17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the grandeur of The Victoria Terminus in Bombay, India, as it stood in the late 1930s. Opened in 1888 and officially inaugurated by the Governor of Bombay, Sire Frederich Sykes, in 1929, this historic terminus served as the primary hub for the main lines of the Great Indian Peninsular Railway. The Victoria Terminus, a masterpiece of Indo-Saracenic architecture, was designed by renowned architect F.W. Stevens and is a testament to the rich cultural fusion that characterized British colonial India. Its intricate stonework, ornate arches, and majestic domes reflect the harmonious blend of Western and Eastern architectural styles. The terminus, now known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST), has been a symbol of Bombay's (Mumbai's) transportation history for over a century. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, recognizing its architectural and historical significance. In this photograph, the Victoria Terminus bustles with activity, as passengers and porters move about, trains come and go, and the sounds of the bustling city fill the air. The image captures the essence of a bygone era, offering a glimpse into the rich history of India's railways and its vibrant urban centers. This photograph, taken in the late 1930s, is a testament to the enduring legacy of the Victoria Terminus and its role in shaping the transportation landscape of Bombay and India as a whole. It is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of architecture, transportation, or the colonial era in India.
