23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Triumph of the Immaculate

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a breathtaking Baroque masterpiece painted by the Italian artist Paolo de Matteis between 1710 and 1715. This exquisite painting is currently housed in the Gemaldegalerie in Berlin, Germany, and is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. The painting depicts the Blessed Virgin Mary triumphantly riding a chariot, surrounded by a group of angels and saints. Mary, clad in a flowing white robe and veil, raises her right hand in blessing while holding the Christ Child in her left arm. The scene is filled with vibrant colors, intricate details, and dynamic movement, reflecting the grandeur and splendor of the Baroque period. The Triumph of the Immaculate represents the victory of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, a central doctrine in Christianism. The Immaculate Conception holds that Mary was conceived in the womb of her mother, Saint Anne, without original sin, thus ensuring her purity and sinlessness throughout her life. The painting's interior setting, with its richly decorated columns and intricate architectural details, adds to the grandeur and majesty of the scene. The use of chiaroscuro, or the contrast between light and dark, creates depth and dimension, further enhancing the painting's visual impact. Paolo de Matteis was a prominent Italian painter of the Baroque period, known for his dynamic and expressive style. His works were highly sought after by European collectors and institutions, and the Triumph of the Immaculate is a prime example of his artistic skill and mastery. Today, it continues to inspire awe and admiration in viewers at the Gemaldegalerie in Berlin, a testament to its enduring beauty and historical significance.
