23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "A Triple Threat on the Mauretania: Chaplin, Donoghue, and Campbell's Transatlantic Voyage, 1931" 2.. This photograph captures an extraordinary moment in time as three renowned figures of the early 20th century - film star and comedian Charlie Chaplin, champion jockey Steve Donoghue, and record-breaking speed king Sir Malcolm Campbell - share a casual moment on board the luxurious ocean liner RMS Mauretania during its transatlantic voyage from America to London in October 1931. 3. The scene unfolds on the ship's deck, with the iconic silhouette of the Mauretania in the background. Charlie Chaplin, dressed in a casual outfit, stands to the left, his signature toothbrush mustache and bowler hat adding an air of familiarity. Next to him, Steve Donoghue, wearing a suit and holding a cane, recovers from an accident that had sidelined him from racing. 4. Sir Malcolm Campbell, looking dapper in a suit and hat, stands to the right, fresh from setting a new land speed record at Daytona. Known as the "Speed King," Campbell spent the voyage filming celebrity passengers on board the Mauretania for his upcoming documentary. 5. Chaplin, who had visited London after an absence of ten years, and Donoghue had joined the ship for a relaxing journey across the Atlantic. The trio's presence on board added an extra layer of excitement for the other passengers, who were thrilled to rub shoulders with such esteemed figures of their time. 6. This photograph is a testament to the glamour and intrigue of the era, showcasing the lives of three remarkable individuals who, despite their diverse backgrounds, found themselves united on the high seas. The Mauretania's transatlantic voyage became a memorable journey for all involved, and this photograph stands as a lasting reminder of that unique moment in history.
