17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph from the annals of motoring history, a smartly-dressed chauffeur stands beside a gleaming Renault Torpedo Sport, his hands folded behind his back as he waits for his passengers to take their seats. The year is 1923, and the scene unfolds on the streets of France. Two elegant ladies, dressed in the height of fashion, approach the car from the pavement. One climbs in gracefully through the open door, while the other bids farewell to a friend or perhaps a loved one. The air is filled with the sound of the idling engine, the scent of expensive perfume, and the anticipation of a grand adventure. The Renault Torpedo Sport, a model of the renowned French automobile manufacturer, was a symbol of luxury and status in the Roaring Twenties. Powered by a 40cv engine, it boasted a top speed of 100 km/h, making it one of the fastest cars of its time. With its sleek design and advanced features, it was a favorite among the wealthy and influential. The image captures a moment of quiet elegance and refinement, a snapshot of a bygone era when travel by car was a thrilling and exclusive experience. The chauffeur, with his immaculate uniform and attentive demeanor, is a testament to the impeccable service that came with owning such a vehicle. The two ladies, their faces obscured by the shadows of the car, add an air of mystery and intrigue to the scene. Who are they? Where are they going? The answers to these questions may be lost to history, but the image remains a captivating reminder of a time when the automobile was a symbol of freedom, luxury, and adventure.
