23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Last Train from Bangor: A Snapshot of Desperation and Overcrowding in Early 20th Century Northern Ireland This evocative photograph, titled 'The Last Train from Bangor,' captures a moment in time from Northern Ireland's rich railway history. Circa 1906, the image depicts a crowded train platform in the town of Bangor, with passengers jostling and reaching out to catch the last train of the day. The steam train, billowing smoke and steam, is ready to depart, leaving behind a sea of determined faces. The photograph exudes a sense of urgency and desperation, as people cling to the train, some even falling in their haste to secure a spot on the overcrowded train. The scene is reminiscent of the daily struggle for survival, as people fought to make their way home or to their next destination. The photograph's title, 'The Last Train from Bangor,' adds an air of finality and importance to the moment. The photograph also offers a glimpse into the past, showcasing the transport methods and fashion trends of the time. Men wear flat caps and suits, while women don long skirts and bonnets. The train, with its large steam engine and carriages, is a testament to the engineering marvels of the era. Despite the serious undertones, the photograph also holds a certain humour and fun. The silly and somewhat chaotic scene of people trying to catch the last train is a common experience that can still resonate with us today. The photograph is a valuable historical souvenir, offering a glimpse into the past and reminding us of the human spirit's resilience and determination.
