23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

1. Title: "Tiryns: A Journey Through Time - The Gallery of the Minoan Hillfort Complex" 2. Description: This evocative image captures the awe-inspiring Gallery of the Minoan Hillfort Complex at Tiryns, a remarkable archaeological site in Greece that continues to captivate scholars and visitors alike. Excavated in 1884-1885 by the renowned German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann, Tiryns is a testament to the rich history and cultural achievements of ancient civilizations. The Gallery, a significant feature of the site, is a stunning example of the Cyclopean masonry that characterizes the Minoan period. The massive stone structures, some weighing up to 15 tons, were meticulously shaped and fitted together without the use of mortar, showcasing the remarkable engineering skills of the ancient builders. The University of Heidelberg and the German Archaeological Institute at Athens have been leading ongoing excavations at Tiryns since the late 1960s, shedding new light on the site's history and the enigmatic Minoan civilization. The Gallery, with its impressive stonework, offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when advanced architectural techniques and artistic expression flourished. The complex at Tiryns, a hillfort fortified with Cyclopean walls, was likely a significant political and economic center during the Late Bronze Age. The site's strategic location and impressive fortifications suggest that it played a crucial role in the defense and control of the surrounding region. As we stand in the presence of these ancient stones, we are reminded of the enduring legacy of the past and the ongoing quest to uncover the mysteries of our shared history.
