Capital Colonnade Dynasty Edfu Horus Ptolemaic Sandstone

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "The Majestic Temple of Horus in Edfu, Egypt: A Testament to Ancient Architecture and Art from the Ptolemaic Dynasty" The Temple of Horus in Edfu, Egypt, is an awe-inspiring architectural masterpiece that transports us back to the ancient world. Built during the Ptolemaic Dynasty between 237 and 57 BC, this temple is a stunning example of Egyptian architecture and art. The print showcases the grandeur of the temple's colonnade, with its towering sandstone columns reaching towards the sky. Each column is intricately carved with intricate reliefs depicting various scenes from Egyptian mythology and the life of Horus, the god of the sky, the sun, and the desert. The temple's design is a testament to the advanced engineering and architectural knowledge of the ancient Egyptians. The columns are not only aesthetically pleasing but also serve as structural supports for the temple's roof. The sandstone used in the construction of the temple was quarried from nearby sites, transported to the temple, and expertly carved by skilled artisans. The Temple of Horus in Edfu is a significant historical site, providing valuable insights into ancient Egyptian culture and religious practices. The temple's intricate carvings and sculptures offer a glimpse into the beliefs and values of the people who lived during the Ptolemaic Dynasty. The temple's location in Edfu, on the west bank of the Nile River, made it an important religious and administrative center during ancient times. It was the capital of the Nome of Upper Egypt and was a place of pilgrimage for worshippers of Horus. The Temple of Horus in Edfu is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in ancient history, architecture, and art. The print is a beautiful reminder of the rich cultural heritage that Egypt has to offer and the enduring legacy of the Ptolemaic Dynasty.
