Buckets Busy Digging Paddling Sands Sea Side Spades 1907
23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this enchanting photograph of children at play on the sandy shores of a seaside resort in 1907. The image, captured by an unidentified photographer and now part of the extensive collection at Mary Evans Picture Library, offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us to a simpler era. The Edwardian-era scene is bustling with activity as boys and girls dig in the sand with their spades, their faces filled with concentration and excitement. Some children paddle in the shallow waters, their laughter ringing through the air as they splash each other. Buckets and spades are scattered about, evidence of their industrious efforts to build sandcastles and moats. The sun casts a warm, golden glow over the scene, illuminating the crisp, white collars of the children's blouses and the striped swimsuits of the boys. The girls' dresses, with their full skirts and high collars, billow gently in the breeze. The sea stretches out behind them, its deep blue hue contrasting starkly with the sandy beach. This photograph is a testament to the timeless joy of childhood and the simple pleasures of a day at the beach. It invites us to reflect on the history of seaside holidays and the enduring appeal of the seaside as a place of relaxation and recreation. Whether you're a history buff, a lover of nostalgia, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of a well-captured moment, this photograph is sure to capture your imagination and transport you to a bygone era.
