23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph depicts the charming and historic village of Lado, once the capital of the Lado Enclave in Sudan during the late 1910s. The enclave, which was situated along the White Nile River, was a unique political entity that was under the protection of the British Empire. The round, mud huts in the image are a testament to the traditional Sudanese architecture, which has been a distinctive feature of the region for centuries. The village of Lado was an important trading center, where goods from various parts of Africa were exchanged. The fertile land around the village supported agriculture, and the inhabitants were known for their cultivation of crops such as sorghum, millet, and cotton. The White Nile River, which flows in the background, provided a vital source of water for irrigation and transportation. Despite its strategic location and economic significance, Lado was a small and isolated community. The photograph offers a rare glimpse into the daily life of the Sudanese people during this era, showcasing their simple yet resilient way of living. The women in the image can be seen carrying water from the river, while the men are engaged in various activities such as farming and crafting. The Lado Enclave existed until 1956, when it was merged with the rest of Sudan following the country's independence. Today, Lado is a cherished piece of history, and this photograph serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of Sudan and its people.
