Raise Seed Vegetables Victory

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a powerful and evocative poster from the year 1918, showcasing the iconic figure of Liberty in the act of sowing seeds. The image is a poignant reminder of the spirit of self-sufficiency and resilience that characterized the times, as the world was going through the upheaval of the First World War. The poster, which dates back to the early 20th century, features Liberty, a symbol of freedom and democracy, dressed in flowing robes, with an outstretched hand, as she gently drops seeds into the fertile soil. The background is adorned with an array of vegetables, including carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, and beans, all growing vigorously, symbolizing the fruits of her labor. The title of the poster, "Sow the Seeds of Victory! Plant & Raise Your Own Vegetables," is written in bold, encouraging letters, urging the viewers to take part in this noble endeavor. The poster is a testament to the importance of gardening and self-sufficiency during times of hardship. With food supplies disrupted by the war, growing one's own vegetables became a necessity for many families. The poster serves as a call to action, reminding people of the power they hold in their own hands to make a difference, no matter how small. The image of Liberty, with her strong and determined gaze, symbolizes the hope and determination that carried people through those challenging times. Today, the poster remains a powerful and inspiring reminder of the importance of self-sufficiency, sustainability, and the connection between the land, food, and community. It is a timeless message that continues to resonate with people, especially in the context of the current global challenges, making it a valuable addition to any collection of historical posters or art.
