FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The South Frieze of the Parthenon, a magnificent masterpiece of ancient Greek art, is showcased in this photograph from the British Museum in London. Dating back to the 5th century BC, this low relief marble sculpture is a testament to the artistic and cultural achievements of the ancient Greeks during the Classical Age. The South Frieze, carved from Pentelic marble, is a part of the Panathenaic procession scene that adorned the exterior of the Parthenon temple on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. This particular section of the frieze depicts a cavalcade of horsemen and their horses in a state of dynamic motion, reflecting the power and grandeur of ancient Greek military might. The intricate details of the horsemen and their mounts are beautifully rendered in the Ionic style, with each figure in the scene exhibiting a unique expression and posture. The horses, too, are portrayed with remarkable realism, their muscles taut and veins bulging as they gallop forward. The South Frieze was removed from the Parthenon during the 19th century, a controversial act that led to the Elgin Marbles controversy and their eventual relocation to the British Museum. Today, this ancient artwork continues to captivate and inspire visitors from around the world, serving as a reminder of the rich history and cultural heritage of ancient Greece. This photograph, taken at the British Museum, offers a glimpse into the intricacies and beauty of the South Frieze, inviting us to explore the world of ancient Greece and the artistic masterpieces that have endured through the ages.
