23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Cast Shoe

EDITORS COMMENTS
: A Scenic Tableau of Pastoral Life in Cumbria This evocative photograph captures a quintessential moment in the rural life of Cumbria, a region renowned for its picturesque landscapes and rich agricultural heritage. The scene unfolds on a winding country track, where the undulating hills and verdant pastures stretch out in every direction. At the heart of this idyllic tableau, a Lakeland shepherd is seen carrying home a lame ewe, his crook slung over one shoulder and a gentle expression on his weathered face. The shepherd's faithful hound accompanies him, its ears pricked and eyes fixed on its master, as if offering silent support and companionship. The trio is further accompanied by a fine white horse, its noble steed lending an air of history and tradition to the scene. The horse's hooves delicately tread upon the earthen path, leaving faint imprints in the soft earth, as if etching the passage of time. The shepherd's careful attention to his flock is evident in the tender way he cradles the injured ewe, ensuring her safe passage home. The title "The Cast Shoe" refers to the makeshift solution the shepherd has employed to help the ewe walk more comfortably, a testament to the resourcefulness and ingenuity of rural life. This image invites us to pause and reflect upon the simple pleasures of country living, where the bond between man, animal, and nature is forged through the shared rhythms of daily life. The rolling hills of Cumbria provide the perfect backdrop to this timeless scene, a reminder of the enduring history and beauty of the English countryside.
