23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, taken in 1926, showcases the youthful exuberance and rich cultural heritage of Scottish Highland Dancing. The image features two young girls, Annie Voight and Rose Eyrie, gracefully performing at the Aboyne Highland Games in Aberdeenshire. Dressed in traditional Scottish attire, complete with tartan kilts and intricately designed shawls, they embody the essence of Scotland's proud and ancient traditions. The Aboyne Highland Games, an annual event held in the picturesque village of Aboyne, have a long and storied history. Established in 1822, the Games have been a cherished gathering for Scots and visitors alike, celebrating the country's history, music, and athleticism. Highland Dancing, with its distinctive and rhythmic steps, has long been a central part of the Games' programming. Annie Voight and Rose Eyrie, both aged 21 at the time, are shown here in the midst of a lively dance, their faces filled with determination and joy. The photograph, taken by an unknown photographer, offers a rare glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when tradition and community were at the heart of Scottish life. As we look at this image, we are reminded of the enduring power of dance to bring people together, to celebrate our shared heritage, and to keep alive the stories and customs of our past. The scene captured in this photograph is a testament to the resilience and vitality of Scottish culture, and a reminder of the importance of preserving and passing down our traditions from one generation to the next.
