17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Behind the Scenes at Broadcasting House: Unveiling the Magic of BBC's Recording Processes in 1946 This photograph offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of Broadcasting House, the iconic headquarters of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), during the post-war year of 1946. The image, taken at a time when radio and television were still in their infancy, reveals the intricate procedures behind the production and transmission of recorded programmes. At the heart of the scene, engineers meticulously work on various pieces of equipment, ensuring the highest possible quality for the audience. The photograph showcases a range of recording apparatus, including steel tape recorders, gramophone discs, and film equipment. These tools were essential for capturing and editing sound and visual content before they could be broadcast to millions of homes across the country. In the foreground, a man carefully adjusts the settings on a large steel tape recorder, while another engineer checks the levels on a sound mixer. Nearby, a stack of gramophone discs is arranged, ready to be played for potential inclusion in programmes. Film reels are visible on a table, waiting to be edited and spliced together. The atmosphere in the room is one of focused intensity, as the team works tirelessly to bring a diverse range of entertainment to the public. This behind-the-scenes snapshot offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of broadcasting and the remarkable efforts made to create and transmit recorded programmes during the 1940s. As we reflect on this photograph, we are reminded of the ingenuity and dedication of the pioneering engineers and broadcasters who laid the foundations for the modern media landscape. Their groundbreaking work paved the way for the advanced technology and sophisticated production processes we take for granted today.
