23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This striking photograph captures the grandeur and excitement of the state entry of Princess Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein and Prince Wilhelm of Prussia into Berlin on the occasion of their wedding on February 27, 1881. The newlyweds, both beaming with joy, are seen passing beneath the iconic Brandenburg Gate in an ornate carriage, adorned with regalia and ceremonial trappings. The flaming torches and brand new whip held by the coachmen add to the pomp and pageantry of the occasion. Princess Augusta Victoria, dressed in an elegant white gown and veil, and Prince Wilhelm, resplendent in his military uniform, are greeted by cheering crowds and well-wishers lining the streets. Cherubs and other decorative elements adorn the carriage, adding to the fairytale-like atmosphere of the scene. The Brandenburg Gate, a symbol of peace and unity, stands as a backdrop to this historic moment in German royal history. The gate, which had been damaged during the French occupation of Berlin, was restored just in time for the wedding procession. The image captures the joy and hope of the moment, as the happy couple embarks on their new life together as Prince and Princess of Prussia. This photograph is a testament to the grandeur and tradition of royal weddings, and offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Germany in the late 19th century.
