17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Vintage Aviation Moment: The Beehive Terminal at Gatwick Airport in 1937. This photograph, taken in 1937, showcases an iconic moment in the history of aviation at Gatwick Airport. The beehive terminal building, a distinctive architectural landmark of the time, stands proudly in the background. This unique structure, with its rounded design and honeycomb-like appearance, was the first permanent building at Gatwick Airport, which initially served as a base for the British Air Ministry's Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA). In the foreground, a de Havilland DH86 Express Air Liner, registration number G-ADEA, gracefully glides past the terminal. This aeroplane, manufactured by de Havilland Aircraft Company, was a popular choice for both private and airline use during the 1930s due to its efficiency and versatility. Powered by two piston engines, it could reach impressive speeds for the era, making it an ideal aircraft for short-haul flights. The de Havilland DH86, affectionately known as the "DH86 Dragon Rapide," was a significant advancement in aviation technology, offering passengers comfort and convenience. Its sleek design and elegant lines are on full display in this photograph, as it flies effortlessly through the clear blue sky. This image not only evokes a sense of nostalgia for the golden age of aviation but also highlights the remarkable progress that has been made in air travel over the decades. The beehive terminal at Gatwick Airport, with its distinctive architecture, and the de Havilland DH86 Express Air Liner, with its innovative design, stand as testaments to the ingenuity and vision of the pioneers of aviation.
