23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph print transports us back in time to the early 1910s, where we find the historic HMS Victory proudly anchored in Portsmouth Harbour, Hampshire. The British flagship, famously associated with Admiral Lord Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, is seen flying Nelson's famous signal, "England confides (expects) that every man will do his duty." The image showcases the grandeur of the warship, with its tall masts and intricately designed sails. The signal, hoisted high above the deck, is a stark reminder of the unwavering commitment and discipline instilled in the British Royal Navy during that era. The man standing on the deck, silhouetted against the setting sun, adds a sense of scale and human connection to the scene. The HMS Victory, a symbol of British naval power and prestige, played a pivotal role in the Battle of Trafalgar, which proved to be a turning point in the Napoleonic Wars. This photograph print is not only a testament to the rich maritime history of Portsmouth but also a visual representation of the unwavering spirit and dedication of the British sailors who served aboard this iconic warship. The image, with its timeless appeal and historical significance, is an essential addition to any collection of maritime or military history. It serves as a powerful reminder of the past, transporting us to a bygone era and offering a glimpse into the proud traditions and values that continue to inspire and shape our world today.
