23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph, a barefoot Muslim man diligently leads his mule and cart through the dusty, sun-scorched streets of Nefta, a small town located in Southern Tunisia near the edge of the Sahara Desert. The man's determined expression and the weary posture of the mule convey the arduous nature of daily life in this North African town. The scene is further enriched by the presence of a colorful wall painting of Charlie Chaplin, the legendary comedian, peeking out from behind a corner. The incongruity of the modern icon and the traditional setting adds an unexpected layer of humor and intrigue to the image. The photograph, taken in the late 1980s, captures a moment of quiet resilience and perseverance in the face of challenging conditions. The man's simple yet essential task of transporting goods through the town's sandy streets is a testament to the enduring spirit of the people of Nefta. The image also highlights the rich cultural tapestry of North Africa, where ancient traditions and modern influences coexist in a vibrant and dynamic way. The photograph's muted colors and grainy texture add to its timeless quality, transporting viewers back to a bygone era. The desert landscape, with its towering sand dunes and stark contrasts, serves as a breathtaking backdrop to the man's laborious journey. The inclusion of the Charlie Chaplin painting adds a whimsical touch, reminding us that even in the most challenging of circumstances, there is always room for a little humor and entertainment. Overall, this photograph is a poignant and evocative snapshot of life in Nefta during the 1980s, showcasing the strength and resilience of its people, the beauty of its desert landscape, and the enduring power of art and humor to bring joy and wonder to our lives.
