17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Kings Cup Air Race: A Glimpse into the Exciting World of 1930s Aviation This evocative photograph captures the spirit of adventure and competition that defined the early days of aviation, as the competitors and their aircraft arrive at Hanworth Aerodrome for the prestigious Kings Cup Air Race on the morning of July 4, 1930. In the pre-dawn hours, the roar of powerful engines could be heard in the distance as the eager pilots and their crews prepared their machines for the upcoming race. The anticipation was palpable in the air, as the crews busied themselves with last-minute checks and adjustments, while the aircraft were positioned in neat rows in the hangar. The Kings Cup Air Race was one of the most prestigious and challenging aviation events of the era, attracting the best pilots and their state-of-the-art aircraft from around the world. The race, which covered a distance of over 500 miles, demanded not only speed and agility but also endurance and skill, as the competitors faced a grueling test of their mettle against the backdrop of the British countryside. As the first light of dawn began to break over the aerodrome, the birds took to the sky, joining the growing fleet of aircraft that awaited the start of the race. The pilots, their faces etched with determination and focus, stood ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime, knowing that only the strongest and bravest would emerge victorious. This photograph offers a unique birds-eye view of the scene, transporting us back to a bygone era of daring exploits and groundbreaking achievements in the world of aviation. It is a testament to the ingenuity, courage, and determination of the pioneering pilots and their crews, who pushed the boundaries of what was possible in the skies above.
