17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Paul Potter (1625-1654): A Dutch Master of Rustic Beauty in The Studio of Paul Potter Paul Potter, a Dutch painter of the Golden Age, is renowned for his depictions of rustic subjects, particularly cows grazing in meadows. This exquisite painting, entitled "The Studio of Paul Potter," offers a unique glimpse into the artist's world. Born in Amsterdam, Potter's artistic career began in the mid-17th century, a time when Dutch painting was at its zenith. His works, characterized by their naturalistic style and attention to detail, were highly sought after by collectors and patrons. In this painting, Potter invites us into his artistic sanctuary, revealing the tools of his trade and the inspiration behind his masterpieces. The room is filled with the paraphernalia of a working studio: brushes, palettes, and paint pots are scattered about, while a partially completed painting hangs on the wall. But it is the cows, so realistically rendered, that steal the show. Their serene expressions and lifelike forms evoke the tranquility and beauty of the Dutch countryside. The cows, grazing in a lush meadow, are a common theme in Potter's oeuvre. His ability to capture the essence of rural life, with its simple pleasures and natural beauty, resonated deeply with the Dutch people. This painting, with its intimate portrayal of the artist at work, serves as a testament to Potter's enduring legacy as a master painter of rustic subjects. Paul Potter's works, including "The Studio of Paul Potter," continue to inspire and delight art lovers around the world.
