17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative image captures the charm and history of the Old Scottish Manse at Cults, a place deeply rooted in the past and the birthplace of renowned Scottish painter David Wilkie. Dating back to the 18th century, this manse, with its distinctive red-roofed architecture, once served as the residence for the local rector. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the manse stands proudly against the backdrop of the ancient Cults Parish Church, its spire reaching for the heavens. The Old Scottish Manse at Cults is a testament to the rich history of Scotland's architectural heritage. Its traditional design, with its symmetrical windows and well-proportioned facade, reflects the country's deep connection to its past. The manse's domestic interiors would have provided a warm and welcoming environment for the rector and his family, offering respite from the rigors of their duties within the church and community. David Wilkie, born in this very manse in 1785, went on to become one of Scotland's most celebrated artists. His works, which often depicted scenes of everyday life, captured the essence of the Scottish people and their surroundings. The Old Scottish Manse at Cults undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the young artist, shaping his artistic vision and inspiring his masterpieces. This photograph invites us to step back in time and explore the history and charm of the Old Scottish Manse at Cults, a place where the past and present converge, and where the legacy of a great artist continues to live on.
