23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This painting, titled "Officer of the Royal Regiment of Artillery (1879)" by Malcolm Greensmith, showcases the grandeur and tradition of the British military in the late 19th century. The Officer, dressed in his undress uniform, exudes confidence and pride as he gazes off into the distance, holding his sword in one hand and his undress sabretache in the other. The intricate details of his uniform are a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of the era, with its richly textured fabric, gleaming buttons, and vibrant sash. The Royal Regiment of Artillery, an esteemed and ancient corps of the British Army, is represented here by this smartly-dressed officer. The regiment, which traces its history back to the late 16th century, has played a crucial role in numerous military campaigns and conflicts. The Officer's undress uniform, while not as formal as the full dress uniform, still retains the regiment's distinctive insignia and traditions. Malcolm Greensmith, a renowned British painter of military and historical subjects, expertly captures the essence of this Officer's character and the regiment's history in this stunning work of art. The Officer's smiling expression and the subtle details in the painting, such as the folds in his uniform and the intricate design on his sabretache, add to the overall sense of authenticity and historical significance. This painting is not only a beautiful work of art but also a valuable historical document, offering a glimpse into the rich military history of the British Army and the Royal Regiment of Artillery.
