17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative watercolor painting, titled "Nurse and Child, Pleaskin, Giants Causeway," was created by the renowned Irish artist James Moore in 1857. The scene captures a tender moment between a local nurse and a young child, set against the backdrop of the awe-inspiring Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. The Giants Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its unique geological formations, which appear as if they were placed there by giants. The intricate basalt columns, formed by ancient volcanic activity, stretch out into the sea, creating a breathtaking natural wonder. In this painting, the nurse sits on a large rock, cradling the child in her arms, while gazing out at the magnificent view. The child, with a curious expression, looks up at his nurse, seemingly captivated by the beauty of the landscape before them. The nurse's calm and nurturing presence provides a sense of safety and comfort to the young one, as they take in the wonders of the world around them. Moore masterfully captures the play of light and shadow on the rocky shoreline, using his skillful brushstrokes to bring the scene to life. The muted colors of the water, the greens of the grass, and the blues of the sky and sea blend harmoniously, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere. This watercolor painting is a testament to the power of nature to inspire and bring joy, as well as the enduring bond between a caregiver and a child. It is a beautiful and timeless image that continues to captivate viewers, over 160 years after it was first created.
