23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Medusa, the Chief of the Gorgons: A Mythological Masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci Medusa, the terrifying Gorgon with the snakes for hair, is one of the most intriguing figures in Greek mythology. Depicted in this stunning print from Mary Evans Prints Online, this rendition of Medusa by the legendary artist Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) is a captivating exploration of the mythological beast's enigmatic allure and terror. The Gorgon's face, as depicted by Leonardo, is a chilling sight to behold. Her visage is so terrible that anyone who gazes upon it is turned to stone. Yet, the story of Medusa is not one of unrelenting fear, but of courage and determination. The hero Perseus, armed with the knowledge that a reflection would not be harmed by Medusa's gaze, bravely beheaded the creature, using a mirror to ensure his safety. Leonardo's masterful portrayal of Medusa is a testament to the artist's ability to capture the essence of the mythological figure. With intricate detail and a deep understanding of human emotion, Leonardo brings Medusa to life, her fearsome visage a reminder of the power of myth and the enduring allure of the unknown. This print is not only a beautiful addition to any collection of classical art, but also a reminder of the rich tapestry of stories and legends that have shaped our cultural heritage. Whether you are a scholar of mythology, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of storytelling, this print of Medusa by Leonardo da Vinci is a must-have.
