23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures a young Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) sitting proudly in the uniform of Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, as she prepares to mount her horse outside Buckingham Palace in the late 1940s. The future monarch, who was born on April 21, 1926, is seen wearing the distinctive red and gold uniform, complete with a bearskin hat, white gloves, and a riding crop. Her expression is focused and determined, as she holds the reins of power in her hands. The Grenadier Guards, one of the most prestigious and oldest regiments in the British Army, had been granted the honor of having a female monarch as their colonel-in-chief since Queen Anne's reign in the early 18th century. Princess Elizabeth's appointment to the position in 1947, following her father King George VI's accession to the throne, marked a significant moment in British history. The photograph showcases the princess's grace and poise as she sits side-saddle on her horse, a testament to her equestrian skills and her dedication to her military duties. The leather saddle, the polished boots, and the intricate details of the uniform add to the image's timeless charm and historical significance. As the world watched with anticipation, Princess Elizabeth would go on to become Queen Elizabeth II on February 6, 1952, following her father's death. Her reign, which lasted for over 70 years, was marked by her unwavering commitment to her country and her people. This photograph, taken decades before her accession, offers a glimpse into the young princess's character and her preparation for the role she was destined to play.
