23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this elegant and captivating image from the early 20th century, a woman gracefully skips along a garden path, her white nainsook ruffled dress billowing around her as she moves with effortless grace. The dress, made of light and breathable nainsook fabric, features voluminous frills and embroidered brodes that add a touch of femininity and sophistication to her outfit. She wears a matching bonnet adorned with a delicate ribbon and carries a chaise longue in her hand, suggesting a leisurely afternoon spent in the sun. The woman's pose and attire are reminiscent of the Orientalist influences that dominated European fashion during the Belle Époque and Art Deco periods. The use of hand-coloured pochoir (stencil) etching adds an artistic touch to the print, making it a beautiful and timeless piece of fashion history. This image is a reproduction of an illustration by Marie-Madeleine Franc-Nohain, published in Tommaso Antongini's Journal des Dames et des Modes in Paris in 1914. The Journal was known for its fashion plates and was a popular source of inspiration for Parisians seeking the latest trends and styles. The image is also reminiscent of the costumes worn by the dancers of the Ballets Russes, which were renowned for their innovative and avant-garde designs during this period. Overall, this charming print captures the essence of chic and elegant fashion during the early 20th century.
