23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This exquisite hand-colored pochoir (stencil) etching captures the elegance and allure of a woman adorned in an ash blue satin evening gown with intricate Irish lace detailing. The image, titled "Manteau du soir en satin bleu cendre avec garnitures d'Irlande" (Evening gown of ash blue satin with Irish lace), is a beautiful representation of the fashion trends during the Belle Époque and Art Deco eras. The woman is depicted gracefully seated in an armchair, her posture exuding refinement and sophistication. She wears a matching vest, also made of Irish lace and Scottish silk crepe, adding an extra layer of texture and intricacy to her ensemble. Her skirt, made of cotton crepe, flows softly around her, creating a sense of fluidity and movement. The woman's accessories complement her outfit perfectly. She holds a parasol with a delicate floral design, adding a touch of femininity and playfulness to her look. A cat sits at her feet, adding a whimsical element to the scene. The etching, taken from Tommaso Antongini's Journal des Dames et des Modes, was created by Xavier Gose in Paris in 1912. The use of hand-coloring adds depth and vibrancy to the image, making it a true work of art. The fashion depicted in this plate is reminiscent of the costumes worn by the dancers of the Ballets Russes, reflecting the Orientalist influences of the time. The overall effect is one of chic Parisian glamour, transporting us to a bygone era of elegance and refinement.
