23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph showcases the Westland Whirlwind HAR.10 XP356 B helicopter of the Royal Air Force (RAF), stationed at RAF Little Rissington during the late 1960s or early 1970s. The Westland Whirlwind was a versatile, twin-engine helicopter that served the RAF for various roles, including helicopter flying training. RAF Little Rissington, located in the English Cotswolds, holds the distinction of being the highest active airfield in the British Isles, with an altitude of 223 metres (732 ft) Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL). The unique location presented challenges for aviation, but the Whirlwind's capabilities allowed it to thrive in this environment. In this image, the Whirlwind HAR.10 XP356 B is seen parked on the tarmac, displaying its distinctive red, white, and blue RAF colours. The helicopter's twin engines are visible, as well as its large, open cockpit and spacious cabin. The Central Flying School (CFS) emblem is prominently displayed on the side of the helicopter, indicating its role in training RAF pilots. The Westland Whirlwind was a vital part of the RAF's aviation fleet during this era, and its service at RAF Little Rissington highlights the challenges and triumphs of operating helicopters in high-altitude environments. This photograph is an intriguing glimpse into the history of helicopter aviation in the British military.
