17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures a moment in history as students from a mission school in Giza, Egypt, gather around the awe-inspiring Sphinx and the Great Pyramid of Giza in 1922. The students, dressed in Western-style clothing, sit on the sandy ground, their eyes fixed on the ancient monuments before them. In the background, the arid desert landscape stretches out, dotted with palm trees and the silhouette of more pyramids. The image offers a glimpse into the intersection of two worlds: the traditional Eastern heritage of Egypt and the modern Western influence of education. The presence of books and the serious expression on the faces of the students suggest that they are engaged in a lesson, perhaps about their own rich history and culture. The 1920s, also known as the Roaring Twenties, were a time of great change and progress. This photograph serves as a reminder of the global connections and exchanges that characterized the era. The students in the photograph, who may have been from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, represent the diverse population of the Middle East during this period. As we look at this photograph today, we are reminded of the enduring power of education and the importance of preserving our cultural heritage. The Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza continue to stand as symbols of human achievement and the desire to understand the mysteries of the past. This photograph invites us to reflect on the ways in which education and cultural exchange have shaped our world and continue to do so today.
