31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this image of Week Street in Maidstone, Kent, circa 1940s. The bustling scene is a testament to the vibrant energy and activity that once filled the streets of this historic town. The photograph showcases a busy weekday afternoon, with people hurrying about their errands and businesses thriving. A red double-decker bus laden with passengers makes its way through the narrow street, weaving in and out of the traffic. The sound of its engine and the clanging of its bell add to the symphony of urban life. Pedestrians, dressed in fashionable yet practical 1940s attire, navigate the crowded sidewalks, their faces a mix of determination and curiosity. A man in a suit adjusts his hat as he steps off the curb, while a woman in a floral dress and heels carries a shopping bag, her heels clicking rhythmically against the pavement. The shops along Week Street are a hive of activity. The "Wines, Spirits, Bass" sign above one establishment beckons to passersby, while the "Lipton" sign, with its iconic sunblind, catches the sunlight filtering through the clouds. A man in an apron leans out of a shop door, chatting with a customer, while a woman in a headscarf busies herself behind the counter. Across the street, a bicycle leans against a wall, its bell and basket ready for the next customer. A man in work clothes pushes a cart, loaded with crates, while a boy in shorts and a cap watches curiously from the sidewalk. This photograph is a snapshot of everyday life in Maidstone during the 1940s, a time of resilience, community, and the simple pleasures of urban living.
