23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this 19th century photograph of The Old Curiosity Shop located at 13-14 Portsmouth Street in Holborn, London. This antique shop, with its intriguing name, can still be found amongst the historic buildings in an area once known as Clare Market. Although the name was added after the release of Charles Dickens' novel, it is believed to have been an inspiration for his vivid description of the shop in Dickens' works, particularly in "Little Dorrit" and "Barnaby Rudge." The Old Curiosity Shop is nestled between the imposing School of Economics building and other structures that date back to the sixteenth century. The photograph, taken during the 1880s, 1890s, or 1900s, showcases the charm and allure of the Victorian era. The image is an albumen print, a popular photographic process during this time, and is a testament to the rich history and cultural significance of this landmark. The Old Curiosity Shop, with its quaint facade, stands out against the urban backdrop of Holborn, offering a glimpse into the past. The photograph also captures the essence of the area's vibrant scenery and the people who once roamed its streets. This photograph is not only a beautiful piece of art but also a valuable historical document, providing a window into London's rich past and the traditions that continue to shape its identity as a global tourist destination.
