FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures the larger-than-life presence of Feodor Machnow, the Russian giant, as he enjoys his breakfast at the renowned London Hippodrome in 1902. Measuring an alleged 9 feet 3 inches in height, although most records suggest he was closer to 7 feet 10 inches, Machnow was a true anomaly in a world of normal-sized humans. His immense appetite was as legendary as his height, with reports stating that he consumed sixteen eggs and several loaves of bread for every meal. In this image, Machnow is seen in the company of his manager and possibly some members of the Hippodrome staff, creating a striking contrast between the giant and the petite figures surrounding him. The scene is reminiscent of a modern-day fairy tale, with the tiny figures dwarfed by Machnow's towering frame. The London Hippodrome, a popular entertainment venue in London during the early 1900s, was known for its eclectic mix of acts, including acrobats, jugglers, and other performers. Machnow, with his extraordinary size and appetite, was a natural draw for the crowds. His presence at the Hippodrome during this period is well-documented, making this photograph an intriguing glimpse into the past. Despite the passage of time, this image continues to captivate and inspire awe, offering a glimpse into a world where the extraordinary was the norm. Machnow's story serves as a reminder of the enduring fascination with the extremes of human size and the human spirit's ability to adapt and thrive in the face of the seemingly impossible.
