23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Butterfly Brooches Mounted in Diamonds: A Glimpse into the Belle Époque's Chic Fashion Culture This exquisite hand-colored pochoir (stencil) etching from Tommaso Antongini's Journal des Dames et des Modes, published in Paris in 1913, showcases a captivating image of a woman adorned with Victor Morgan's butterfly brooches mounted in diamonds. The image, titled "Papillons naturels montes en diamants par Morgan," encapsulates the essence of the Belle Époque's fashion culture and its fascination with the Art Deco movement. The woman in the illustration wears a stylish outfit, consisting of a skirt, blouse, and jacket, that epitomizes the elegance and grace of the era. Her hair is neatly styled, and she holds a pair of fashionable game sticks, adding an air of sophistication to her appearance. The woman's attire is accessorized with a stunning ring and a set of butterfly brooches, designed by Victor Morgan, that are mounted in diamonds. These intricately crafted brooches, with their delicate wings spread wide, add a touch of orientalism to her outfit, reflecting the influence of the Ballets Russes on Parisian fashion. The hand-colored pochoir etching technique used in this illustration adds a vibrant and artistic touch to the image, making it a visually stunning representation of the fashion trends of the time. The use of diamonds to mount the butterfly brooches further highlights the opulence and luxury associated with the Belle Époque's fashion culture. Overall, this illustration serves as a fascinating glimpse into the chic fashion scene of the early 20th century, where elegance, art, and innovation came together to create timeless beauty.
