17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Tribute to Valor: The 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment and 1st Canadian Army Memorial This evocative print captures the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) and 1st Canadian Army Memorial, located in Klein Amerika and dedicated on September 16, 1990. The memorial was the brainchild of C. Hectors, A. van Grinsven, and Father Thuring, who sought to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied forces during World War II. On the left tablet, the inscription reads, "With Europe in peril, Paras landed here in their thousands. General James Gavin and the All American Division 17 and 18 Sep 1944 - Operation Market Garden. Pilgrim, are you, like the liberators, ready to lay down your life when your fellows need you." This area served as DZ N for the Americans, where 2,291 men of the 505th PIR landed alongside the HQ of the 82nd Airborne Division. General Gavin and his staff touched down around 1315 hours. On the right tablet, the inscription states, "Here in the winter of 1944/45, tens of thousands of General Crerar's First Canadian Army held the front line between the Maas and the Waal. Pilgrim, cherish all that you hold dear." This poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Canadian forces during the winter of 1944/45 resonates with the importance of cherishing the things we hold dear. This powerful memorial stands as a testament to the unwavering courage and determination of the Allied forces during World War II. The 505th PIR and 1st Canadian Army played pivotal roles in the liberation of Europe, and this memorial serves as a lasting tribute to their sacrifices. Dedicated in 2001, it continues to inspire and remind us of the importance of courage, unity, and the human spirit.
