17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative photograph captures a pivotal moment during the 11th Armoured Division's military exercises on the Yorkshire Moors in 1941. Amidst the rolling hills and rugged terrain, British soldiers can be seen maneuvering their tanks and armored vehicles, preparing for the rigors of war. The presence of Sir Winston Churchill, the wartime Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, adds an air of significance to the scene. Churchill, dressed in a heavy overcoat and hat, is seen here in conversation with Brigadier Duff Cooper, the Commander of the 11th Armoured Division. The two men are deep in discussion, their expressions serious and focused. Behind them, soldiers and officers from the division, including General Peto, Major Lucas, and General Hobart, observe the proceedings. The 11th Armoured Division, also known as the "Black Bulls," was a formidable force during World War II. Their exercises on the Yorkshire Moors were an essential part of their training regimen, helping them to hone their skills in difficult terrain and prepare for the challenges of battle. Churchill's attendance at the exercises was a testament to their importance and a show of support for the men and women serving in the British military during this critical time. This photograph, taken in 1941, offers a rare glimpse into the wartime world of the 11th Armoured Division and the intense training that took place on the Yorkshire Moors. It is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the British military during World War II and the crucial role that training and preparation played in the eventual Allied victory.
