17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Small Holding in Switzerland
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by the Swiss artist Hans Iten (1874-1930). This beautiful work of art showcases the idyllic beauty and simplicity of rural life in the Swiss Alps. The painting depicts a small, secluded farmstead nestled amidst lush green pastures and towering mountains. The title of the piece, "Small Holding," refers to the modest size of the farm and the self-sufficient lifestyle of its inhabitants. Iten's expert use of color and light brings the scene to life. The vibrant green grasses and trees contrast beautifully with the rich, earthy tones of the farm buildings and the deep blues of the distant mountains. The sun casts a warm glow over the landscape, illuminating the scene with a gentle, golden light. The painting also captures the sense of community and hard work that is inherent in rural life. In the foreground, a farmer can be seen tending to his livestock, while in the background, smoke rises from the chimney of a nearby farmhouse, indicating the presence of a busy household. The peaceful scene belies the hard work and dedication required to maintain a small holding in such a rugged and mountainous terrain. Despite its small size, "Small Holding in Switzerland" is a powerful reminder of the enduring beauty and charm of rural life. Hans Iten's masterful use of color, light, and composition invites the viewer to step into the painting and experience the tranquility and simplicity of the Swiss Alps for themselves. This oil painting is a true treasure of Swiss art and a testament to the enduring appeal of the rural idyll.
