17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "Hugh O'Neill, 2nd Earl of Tyrone: A Defiant Irish Chieftain" This stunning oil on panel painting depicts Hugh O'Neill, 2nd Earl of Tyrone (1540-1616), a pivotal figure in Irish history. Born into the powerful O'Neill clan, he rose to prominence during the late 16th and early 17th centuries, leading numerous rebellions against English rule in Ireland. O'Neill's defiance began in earnest in 1593 when he allied with other Irish chieftains to challenge Queen Elizabeth I's authority. The Nine Years' War that ensued saw numerous battles and skirmishes, with O'Neill's forces inflicting significant damage on English forces. Despite several setbacks, O'Neill's determination and military prowess kept the rebellion alive. The painting captures O'Neill's regal bearing and unyielding spirit. He is depicted wearing a richly embroidered tunic and a fur-trimmed cloak, symbols of his high rank and power. His piercing gaze and clenched fist convey a sense of determination and resolve. The background, with its rugged landscape and ominous clouds, underscores the turbulent times in which O'Neill lived. Despite the eventual failure of the rebellion, O'Neill remains a heroic figure in Irish history. His defiance against English rule inspired generations of Irish nationalists and helped shape the country's cultural identity. This painting is a testament to his indomitable spirit and the enduring legacy of the Irish chieftains. The artist of this painting is unknown, adding to its mystery and intrigue. It is a reminder of the rich artistic and historical heritage of Ireland and the complex history of its people. This painting is a must-have for any collection focused on Irish history, art, or culture.
