17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Head of a Man (19th Century) Description: This 19th century oil painting depicts a powerful and enigmatic portrait of an unidentified man. The head is rendered in exquisite detail, with the rich, textured brushstrokes bringing out the intricacies of the subject's facial features. The man's piercing gaze and furrowed brow suggest a deep introspection, while the subtle play of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to the artwork. The painting is executed on a wooden board, and the use of oil paint allows for a velvety, almost tactile finish. The muted colors and somber palette further enhance the sense of depth and timelessness. Despite the unknown identity of the man in the painting, his presence is undeniably compelling. The artwork invites the viewer to contemplate the mysteries of the human psyche and the complexities of the human experience. The 19th century was a time of great social and political upheaval, and this painting serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of art to capture the essence of the human condition. Provenance: The exact origin of this painting is unknown, but it is believed to date from the 19th century. It is currently available as a high-resolution print from Mary Evans Prints Online, a leading provider of historical and cultural images.
