17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

1. Title: Mycenaean Ivory Lyre with Decorative Carvings: A Musical Masterpiece from Ancient Greece This image showcases a beautifully preserved Mycenaean ivory lyre, displayed at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens, Greece. The lyre, an ancient stringed musical instrument, is renowned for its intricate decorative carvings adorning its base, which served as the sound box. The Mycenaean civilization, which flourished from approximately 1600 to 1100 BCE, is renowned for its advanced artistic achievements. This ivory lyre is an excellent example of the high level of craftsmanship and artistic expression that characterized this ancient culture. The base of the lyre is intricately carved with various relief sculptures. The decorative motifs include geometric patterns, spirals, and stylized animals, such as lions, griffins, and sphinxes. These carvings not only served an aesthetic purpose but also likely held symbolic significance for the Mycenaeans. Despite the passage of time, the ivory lyre remains in relatively good condition, showcasing the exceptional preservation abilities of the ancient Greeks. However, some damage is evident, particularly in the form of small cracks and missing pieces, which serve as reminders of the instrument's age and the passage of history. The Mycenaean ivory lyre is a testament to the artistic and musical achievements of this ancient civilization. Its intricate decorations and preserved state offer valuable insights into the cultural practices and artistic sensibilities of the Mycenaeans, making it an invaluable addition to the National Archaeological Museum's collection. In conclusion, this image of the Mycenaean ivory lyre with decorative carvings is a stunning representation of the artistic and musical heritage of ancient Greece. Its intricate design, preserved state, and historical significance make it a must-see attraction for visitors to the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
