17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Moses Hands Held Up: A Pivotal Moment in Biblical History This powerful image depicts a pivotal moment in the Old Testament of the Bible, as recorded in the Book of Exodus. The scene shows Moses, the leader of the Israelites, with his hands held high above his head, enabling his people to defeat their enemies, the Amalekites, in the Battle of Rephidim. According to the biblical account, as long as Moses kept his hands raised, the Israelites were winning, but if they fell, they were losing ground. So, Aaron and Hur, two of Moses' closest allies, came to his aid and supported his arms, ensuring that they remained elevated throughout the battle. This historical event holds significant religious and cultural significance for the Jewish and Christian faiths, symbolizing the importance of faith, perseverance, and unity in the face of adversity. The image of Moses with his arms raised has become an enduring symbol of strength and victory, inspiring countless works of art and literature throughout history. The exact date and location of this battle are not known, but it is believed to have taken place around 1446 BCE. The Israelites, who were enslaved in Egypt, had recently been freed by God and were making their way to the Promised Land. The Amalekites, a nomadic people, attacked them as they traveled through the wilderness, testing their resolve and determination. This photograph, from Mary Evans Picture Library, offers a unique glimpse into the rich history and symbolism of the Bible, providing a window into the past and a reminder of the enduring power of faith and unity.
