23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

This diorama, titled "Mining. Surveying by the Mines Compass," is a stunning representation of the intricate and complex process of mining in the 19th century, showcased at the prestigious Deutsches Museum in Munich, Germany. The diorama transports us back in time to an era of scientific discovery and technological innovation, where the extraction of minerals and minerals from the earth was a labor-intensive and meticulous operation. At the heart of this scene, a miner diligently surveys the mine's interior with a compass, ensuring the accurate measurement and mapping of the tunnels and mineral deposits. He is accompanied by a fellow worker, who holds a flashlight to illuminate the dark recesses of the mine. The exterior of the mine is depicted with a tunnel entrance, and the interior reveals the intricate perforations and score marks on the mine walls, evidence of the relentless excavation that took place. The diorama also highlights the technological advancements of the time, with the use of a mines compass for surveying and a worker's lamp to light the way. The attention to detail in this model is truly remarkable, from the realistic depiction of the miner's clothing and equipment to the intricate representation of the mineral deposits. The diorama is part of the "Meisterwerke der Naturwissenschaft und Technik" (Masterpieces of Science and Technology) collection at the Deutsches Museum, which celebrates the rich history of scientific and technological achievements in Europe. This diorama offers a unique glimpse into the past, showcasing the dedication, hard work, and innovation that went into the mining industry during the 19th century.
