23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this striking photograph, two of Japan's most prominent political figures of the early 20th century are depicted in formal attire, showcasing their high ranks and prestigious honors. Marquis Ito Hirobumi, a former Prime Minister of Japan, stands on the left side of the image. Born in 1840, Ito played a pivotal role in modernizing Japan and establishing its constitutional monarchy. He served as Prime Minister from 1885 to 1888 and later became the Governor-General of Korea from 1895 until his assassination in 1909. On the right side of the photograph is Prince Katsura Taro, who was the current Prime Minister of Japan at the time this image was taken, around 1901. Born in 1848, Katsura served as Prime Minister from 1898 to 1901. He was also a decorated military officer and held the rank of Marshal General in the Imperial Japanese Army. Both men are dressed in their formal uniforms, adorned with numerous medals and decorations, reflecting their high-ranking positions and the honors they had received throughout their careers. The image captures the essence of the power and prestige held by these two influential figures in Japanese politics during this period. The photograph serves as a testament to the political landscape of Japan during the late Meiji Era, a time of significant change and modernization in the country's history. The image is a valuable historical document, providing insights into the lives and careers of two of Japan's most prominent political figures.
