Brunel Iron Isambard Mammoth Steamer Steamers Designed

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases the awe-inspiring design of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Mammoth Iron Steam-Ship Great Eastern, a true engineering marvel of the Victorian era. Dated around 1873, this colossal steamship was Brunel's magnum opus, a testament to his innovative spirit and engineering prowess. Measuring an impressive 322.5 meters in length and 51.2 meters in width, the Great Eastern was the largest ship ever built at the time. Its massive size was a result of Brunel's vision to create a vessel capable of carrying a large cargo capacity and accommodating a substantial number of passengers. The ship's hull was constructed primarily of iron, making it stronger and more durable than its wooden predecessors. Brunel's innovative design included a unique propeller system, which was larger than any other in existence, enabling the Great Eastern to achieve remarkable speeds. The ship's impressive dimensions and advanced engineering made it a symbol of progress and technological advancement during the late 19th century. This photograph captures the Great Eastern in all its glory, docked at a pier with its intricate details and imposing presence on full display. The ship's towering smokestacks, ornate decorations, and expansive decks are all visible, providing a glimpse into the grandeur of maritime transportation during the Victorian era. Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Mammoth Iron Steam-Ship Great Eastern remains an enduring symbol of engineering excellence and a testament to the ingenuity and ambition of its designer. This photograph offers a fascinating glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when the possibilities of maritime transportation seemed limitless.
