17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph captures an iconic moment in London Fire Brigade history, featuring an Emergency Tender from Lewisham fire station (E21) as part of the GLC-LFB appliance fleet in the late 1960s. The Greater London Council (GLC) and the London Fire Brigade merged on 1 April 1965, leading to the creation of a larger and more comprehensive firefighting service. In the years following the merger, a series of photographs was commissioned to document each type of fire engine that was either within or absorbed into the enlarged London Fire Brigade. The Emergency Tender in this image is one of the old-style London County Council-London Fire Brigade (LCC-LFB) tenders. These vehicles were essential for carrying a range of equipment and tools to incidents, including ladders, hoses, and other essential firefighting gear. The tender was based at Lewisham fire station and was a vital asset in the station's firefighting capabilities. The photograph shows the tender in the process of laying out its hoses, with firefighters preparing to connect them to a hydrant or other water source. The vehicle's powerful engine and robust design are evident, making it an effective and reliable tool for responding to emergencies. This photograph offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the London Fire Brigade and the evolution of its appliance fleet. The old-style Emergency Tender from Lewisham fire station (E21) is a reminder of the important role that these vehicles played in the fire service during the 1960s.
